Survey Regarding Gainesville's Urban Transect Districts
Survey Regarding Gainesville's Urban Transect Districts
The Gainesville City Commission has directed Planning Division staff to evaluate residential densities within the City’s Urban Transect Districts (U1–U9 and DT). As part of this preliminary evaluation, staff is seeking feedback from development professionals regarding their experiences with and perceptions of the density standards within these districts, including whether existing density allowances or limitations affect the feasibility or design of development and redevelopment projects. Responses to this survey are due Friday, September 18, 2026, by 5:00 PM.
The feedback received through this survey is intended to be presented at the General Policy Committee meeting on October 22, 2026, to help inform the City Commission’s discussion regarding residential density within the Urban Transect Districts. Survey participants are also welcome to attend the meeting and provide additional feedback or information.
